Last week Mom and I decided to visit the
Indian Pueblo Cultural Center here in Albuquerque. We had lunch in the Pueblo Harvest Cafe which has a fantastic view of the Sandia Mountains. I ordered the chicken quasadilla…very yummy!! We then paid admission to the museum ($4 for New Mexico residents!).

the courtyard |
Dancers from the Nambe tribe performed in the courtyard. I am not sure how they could stand the heat, but it was fantastic to watch.

After the performance we explored the museum. There was wonderful pottery, artwork, historical artifacts, and a nice gift shop. We had a great time!! (Plus the air conditioning was heavenly!!!!) If you are ever in the Albuquerque area it is worth a visit.
What have you discovered recently in your town?

This weekend was the annual Rio Grande Valley Celtic Festival. My friend Kate has two Scotty dogs that were part of the Celtic Dog Exhibit, which got us both in for FREE! We had a great time talking with everyone, untangling dog leashes, and getting rather sunburnt!

And the step dancing had my toes tapping! Maybe I will take a lesson.

Kegan! |
This is one of Kate’s Scotties. His name is Kegan and he is a total goofball. Ula was too camera shy.

New Celtic Ring |
I got a fantastic deal on this Blue Topaz Celtic Ring. Kate bought an Amethyst Celtic Ring which is very similar. I call them our “Wonder Twins Rings”. (Can you tell I live in the desert. I had just put on hand lotion before taking this photo. I guess it didn’t last. YIKES!)
As you can see we had great time. What did you do this weekend?

This past Friday, I attended Girls Night Out which benefited the Ronald McDonald House Charities of New Mexico. Sharon (Touch of the Goddess) and I were busy the whole night with tarot readings and pendulum demos. By the end of the night we were exhausted but we had a wonderful time and were happy to have helped such a worthy cause. We are making plans to attend next year’s event!!

This clever bird stole a green ribbon from me to feather his nest. I hope he attracts a nice girl!

Spring has finally sprung…and in my neck of the woods (desert is more accurate!) spring also brings a foul four letter word…WIND. Luckily, I caught some photos before it got super windy.
I have a stunning Flowering Plum Tree in my backyard that has the prettiest pink blossoms. I look forward to their arrival every spring and this year I was not disappointed!
Than came the evil WIND…I guess this is just a reminder to live in the moment, for those beautiful blossoms could be gone tomorrow. So take the time to sit under that flowering spring tree and enjoy the beauty of this season while it lasts!
What is your favorite thing about spring?
